This week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup features an app for syncing audio to your Apple Watch, an experimental news client, and a navigation app for meetings. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
MixTape Audio Sync
MixTape Audio Sync allows you to sync audio to your Apple Watch via iCloud, for local storage, so you can play it back without your iPhone. It works with all non-DRM file types–just drag and drop them into the MixTape folder on iCloud Drive. Plus, the Apple Watch app supports Complications and Digital Crown scrolling.
Feeling overwhelmed by the news lately? Check out Sift. The app is an experiment in what the developers call “news therapy,” allowing users to peer beyond the headlines and get nuanced perspectives on important topics. You also don’t get bombarded with breaking stories every minute, plus the app’s future is largely based on user feedback.
Meet in Town
Meet in Town is a new way to arrange meetings. The app takes into account personal preferences, means of transportation and real time traffic data, and recommends multiple ‘halfway’ points based on the location of you and the person your meeting. While this is probably more of a feature than a standalone app, I think it’s a great idea for folks in long distance relationships or those who frequently take off-site meetings.
The successor to the highly acclaimed Editors’ Choice-winning game Euclidean Lands is here! Euclidean skies combines marvelous architecture and turn-based movements to create a beautiful world with mind-bending puzzles. Plus there’s a special AR mode that builds these beautiful levels right in front of your eyes.
Trivia Crack 2
Speaking of sequels, here’s a good one: Trivia Crack 2. It feels like ages ago when the original Trivia Crack was sweeping the globe, and now the hit game is back with a #2. Features include team competitions, collectible characters, new questions (obviously), refreshed graphics and much more.
