Fortnite 6.0.1 update adds Chiller trap, new Playground options
This week’s Fortnite update is now available across all platforms, including iOS.
Version 6.0.1 isn’t quite as exciting as last week’s big season six launch, but it does bring some new content to enjoy. Players can take advantage of the Chiller trap in Battle Royale and there are more options to play around with in Playground mode.
Not every Fortnite update can be game-changing. But even smaller releases like version 6.0.1 typically bring new items for players to look forward to — as well as welcome performance improvements and bug fixes.
Here’s what you can expect this week.
Fortnite 6.0.1 adds new Chiller trap
Bouncers might be gone in season six, but Chiller traps are here to take their place. They’ll freeze the feet of players who step on them so that they slide away. They can also be used to escape sticky situations when things aren’t going your way.
Chillers are common items that drop in stacks of three. You can find them in treasure chests, supply drops, vending machines, loot llamas, and on the floor. They can be placed on floors, walls, and ceilings.
Update 6.0.1 also brings new options to Playground mode. You now have the ability to specify starting health, time of day, gravity, and more. Save the World players can also look forward to using the lead sled hammer.
Bug fixes and improvements
Finally, update 6.0.1 brings a number of bug fixes and improvements. Epic has eliminated an issue that caused vehicles to become uncontrollable, and another that prevented players from interacting with items on mobile. Motion controls have also been improved on Nintendo Switch.
Enjoy all this by updating to Fortnite version 6.0.1 now.
