In a terse tweet, developer Silvio Rizzi announced that he is making Reeder 3 free until he ships a paid upgrade to Reeder 4 later this year. Reeder offers clients for both macOS and iOS, and you can use it either as a standalone RSS reader, or to sync your subscribed feeds through various RSS services (for an overview of the RSS landscape, see “The State of Google Reader Replacements,” 27 June 2013).
