While there is a lot of attention being applied to next week, when Apple will announce the new iPhone lineup, there’s still room for more devices on the market and Google plans on filling the gaps beginning next month.
On Thursday, Google started sending out invitations to an event it will be hosting in New York on Tuesday, October 9. On that date, beginning at 8:00 AM PT/11:00 AM ET, the company will unveil the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. It’s likely the company will also be hosting some time to show off other hardware, perhaps a successor to the original wireless headphones, the Pixel Buds, but Google has shot down the idea of a Pixel smartwatch for now.
Google’s event is a little less than a month after Apple’s, so the end of the year is going to be pretty exciting, as usual. If you haven’t already, check out the unboxing video of the Pixel 3 XL, which we’ve embedded below. The handset has been leaked a ridiculous amount ahead of the October 9 debut, so, unfortunately, for those keeping an eye on the rumor mill there might not actually be much that’s new on announcement day.
Are you looking forward to seeing what Google has to offer?
