Apple yesterday released the 12th beta of iOS 12. The latest beta was released more as a quick fix to solve the dreaded ‘iOS 12 Update is Available’ error that all iOS 12 beta testers were getting. iOS 12 beta 12 is likely the last beta release of the OS as Apple now prepares for its September 12 iPhone event.
As some of the recent iOS 12 beta releases have shown, the performance improvements from newer beta builds are hard to distinguish especially on relatively newer iPhones.
Sure, there’s still a noticeable performance improvement when you compare the first beta of iOS 12 to iOS 11.4.1 but newer iOS 12 beta builds have stopped pushing the bar further in terms of speed improvements. This is understandable as the very first beta of iOS 12 brought about a decent performance improvement when compared to iOS 11.4 and there’s only so much more performance that Apple can eek out from its older chipsets through software optimizations.
Across the board, irrespective of which iPhone you own, iOS 12 will bring about faster boot and app loading times. Even navigating around in iOS 12 feels much faster on older iPhones when compared to iOS 11. The update will easily breathe a lease of new life on older iPhones that still pack a relatively powerful chipset like the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7.
Are you running iOS 12 beta on your iPhone or iPad? If yes, are you liking the speed improvements? Or do you think there’s still room for improvements? Drop a comment and let us know!
