Apple is reportedly planning on unveiling the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone in a multitude of colors. As per analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, these colors would be Gold, Grey, White, Blue, Red, and Orange. While today’s Mac Otakara report confirms that Apple indeed plans on launching the 6.1-inch iPhone in a variety of colors, its color options are different from that of Kuo.
The report is based on the information received from Apple’s supply chain sources by Rosenblatt Securities Jun Zhang and claims that the colors will be based on Apple’s iPhone X leather case lineup. The source believes that Apple will be launching the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone in six new colors: White, Black, Flash Yellow, Bright Orange, Electric Blue, and Taupe.
The color predictions from both reports are nearly the same, though Mac Otakara report does claim that Apple will not be offering the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone in red color.
With Android OEMs launching their handsets in a variety of colors to catch the attention of consumers, it makes sense that Apple is also following a similar strategy with its budget-oriented 6.1-inch LCD iPhone. Interestingly, it remains to be seen if Apple will also offer the 2018 iPhone X and iPhone X Plus in some new color options or not.
While the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will feature a design similar to the other two iPhones that Apple plans on launching alongside it, the handset will retain an aluminum back and make a few compromises here and there to keep ensure it launches with a $700 price tag. This includes having 3GB RAM, a single camera setup, and a slightly lower battery capacity.
