While South Korean Apple fans were hoping to see Apple’s first Flagship Store open for Christmas, there have been a few snags along the way. The good news is that Apple has put up a notice on the store’s false front saying “Nice to meet you.” This is usually a sign that the store is on it’s count down to opening. Each store pre-opening has had a similar message of sorts. Here’s one for Dubai and another in Singapore. Apple will likely try to open the store before the opening of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang on February 9th.
It was reported in December that Angela Ahrendts would be at the opening ceremony depending on the circumstances at the time.(Click on image above to enlarge)
While we await that store’s grand opening, we learned last week that Apple is planning it’s largest Canadian store in Toronto. It’s only at the blueprint stage with a drawing from Foster + Partners seen below (click on image below to enlarge).
Toronto currently has four Apple retail stores in shopping malls in Toronto located in Eaton Centre, Fairview Mall, Sherway Gardens, and Yorkdale. This will be Apple’s first flagship store accessed from the outside. The store is to located at the corner of Yonge Street and Bloor Street, one of Toronto’s busiest intersections. No dates have been established for when construction will begin.
